
MANILA, Philippines – A rainy Friday is expected nationwide due to the northeast monsoon (amihan), shear line and easterlies, according to the state weather bureau.
In its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said cloudy skies, rain, with possible flooding and landslides brought by the northeast monsoon may be experienced in the following areas:
- Metro Manila
- Cordillera Administrative Region
- Cagayan Valley
- Central Luzon
- Calabarzon
- Occidental Mindoro
- Oriental Mindoro
- Marinduque
- Camarines Sur
- Camarines Norte
- Catanduanes
The monsoon will also bring light rains to the Ilocos region, Pagasa said.
Meanwhile, the shear line will bring scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms that may also cause flash floods in Western Visayas, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Romblon and Northern Samar.
The rest of the country also faces the threat of flooding as the easterlies will cause isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
